The Gerbera Daisy got its name from German botanist and naturalist Traugott Gerber. Though Gerbera is the common name for this relative of the sunflower, it has also been called African Daisy, Transvaal Daisy, and Barberton Daisy. In case you are looking for a variety of Gerbera Daisy, you can choose from 30 species, as well as many colors like pink, yellow, and orange.
By far, Gerberas are my favorite flower in this family. Their vibrant colors and beautiful design set it apart from many other flowers.
