- Objectives: To bring the finest floral designers to San Diego County; promote appreciation of floral art forms; develop skills in critiquing floral art; improve individual skills for in home floral decorating; learn skills for flower show exhibition; encourage members to enter flower shows and promote floral arts in the community.
- Fees: Choose $70/all 8 program season pass (save $50 off non-member session tickets) or $12/ session for NGC/CGCI members or $15/ session for non-members
2015-16 Schedule
October 5: Robert Gordon, AIFD Professor of Ornamental Horticulture A perennial favorite, Bob kicks off our “Celebrate-the Art Form” season with designs featuring the latest trends.
November 2: Designs of National Garden Clubs. Education, Inspiration and Enjoyment – just in time for the Holiday Season. Over 20 designs to view and learn about as NGC Judges explain the ins and outs of each one.
December 7: Very Special Designer, to be announced later, AIFD, traveler and teacher. Don’t miss this one
January 4: Gerard Toh, AIFD,CFD, CCF Floral Designer, Floral Stylist Art Director and many more titles and accomplishments. Highly sought after for demonstrations, classes, events and council. Start the year off right.
February 1: Pauline Sechi, Creative Designer NGC Flower Show Judge, CGCI Floral Design Education Chair, and always presents an outstanding design.
March 7: Jackie Zhang, Master Instructor O’Hara School of Ikebana. Enjoy the simplicity, meaning and grace of her designs. We are pleased that Jackie could fit us in.
April 4: Gloria Aminian and Monica Lewis: The Bakersfield Mother and Daughter Team of very creative NGC Flower Show Judges. How much alike or different are their styles.
May 2: “FLOWER POWER” Our most popular program. Watch as local designers race against the clock to complete a Surprise Package design from material, container and theme. Then, like a 3 ring circus, they show a “signature Design”, a “round robin” and then a “wrap up” design.
