Pauline Sechi

Pauline is the CGCI Floral Design Education Chairman, a member of Dos Valles Garden Club, a NGC Master Flower Show Judge, and a member of Southwestern Judges’ Council.  She is a member of Organization of Floral Art Designers (OFAD), and she is the current Floral Design Gallery Chairman.

Pauline is the 2014-2015 “Woman of the Year” for Palomar District, a past winner of CGCI’s Floral Arranger of the Year, and has won many other awards for Floral Design and Editorials on Design. Originally from Australia, Pauline now lives in Fallbrook.

Carvill Veech

Carvill Veech has combined her love of nature and abstract thinking to create a floral style that is uniquely hers.  She often incorporates unusual containers, many hand-made, with a combination of fresh flowers, found objects and unusually prepared dried plant materials.  Her primary focus is the achievements of rhythm, depth, and contrast.  She considers floral design to be  “temporary 3-dimemsional sculptures.” An avid user of color, Veech says, “I’ve never met a can of spray paint that I don’t love”.  She has won all the top National Garden Clubs awards, and in 2010 she earned third place at the SD Top Ten floral design competition.

“I am always interested in new styles and techniques in floral design, but I enjoy tradition as well.  Mostly, I enjoy the process, and I love the flowers!”

Carvill is an Accredited National Garden Clubs Flower Show Judge, Chairman of the Southwest Judges Council of California Garden, and an avid UC Master Gardener.  She is a member of the Crown Garden Club of Coronado, the Bonita Valley Garden Club, the Creative Flower Arrangers of the Americas, and the San Diego Flower Arranger Guild.

Carvill gives floral design demonstrations and workshops for garden clubs and seminars.

George Speer

George is a Floral Designer that works both sides of the floral design world: the saleable, comfortable and usually loaded with plant material designs of the Florist, and on the other side: the more sculptural and sometimes minimalistic designs of National Garden Clubs, Inc..  He has done weddings, parties and theme pieces for meetings, flower shows, and commercial events.  His designs sometimes cross-over, but he feels that floral design should not have a lot of boundaries.

George has studied and taken classes from both sides, and he is always ready to share his knowledge, and he usually includes designs from all sides in his demonstration programs.  He shares “secrets of the trade” that you can use and other ideas that help you feel comfortable arranging flowers or for just appreciating the art form.  In addition to demonstrations, he is in demand for workshops for children to senior citizens.

George is an Accredited-Life National Garden Clubs, Inc. Judge, and he has judged in various places around California, out of state, and in Mexico.  He has won design Blue Ribbons in flower shows and at the San Diego County Fair.

He looks forward to demonstrating his floral art form for you, where his goal is to “educate, encourage and entertain” you with a variety of holiday designs that you can use as inspiration.
