- Objectives: To bring the finest floral designers to San Diego County; promote appreciation of floral art forms; develop skills in critiquing floral art; improve individual skills for in home floral decorating; learn skills for flower show exhibition; encourage members to enter flower shows and promote floral arts in the community. The forum is open to anyone interested in floral design.

- Reminder, that California Garden Club Inc. members are able to shop at Shinoda Design Center with a pass obtained by your club President. You will have to pay sales tax at the time of purchase. Applications are available at their web site.
2018-19 Floral Design Forum Schedule
- September 16, 2018 -FREE Special “Christmas Show” at Shinoda Design Center, San Diego . Sunday, 9 AM to 3 PM. Watch while Designer TBA, creates fresh and Silk designs to get your ideas flowing with products off the shelves. Notice: FREE
- October 1, 2018 Barbara Weiler, Master NGC Flower Show Judge, award winning designer, teacher and Horticulturist. watch what she can put together for the Fall. She loves the Autumn color pallet.
- November 5, 2018 – New Designs from National Garden Clubs. Education, Inspiration and Enjoyment – just in time for the holidays and the Flower Show Season. 20 Designers will be using insert or donation containers to raffle off.
- December 3, 2018 – Anthony “Tony” Alvarez AIFD –Seasonal and Holiday Designs. Get inspired for the Holidays.
- January 7, 2019 David Root – Top Ten Winner, teacher and a Designer: of “from trash cans” to working the elegant party and event scene. Always an entertaining and surprise filled program.
- February 4, 2019- Robert Gordon, AIFD Professor of Ornamental Horticulture A perennial favorite, Bob jumps in the middle of our “26th Anniversary Season” with the theme: “The Container Made Me do It” He will be lightening his container inventory this trip.
- March 4, 2019 “FLOWER POWER” Our most popular Program. Watch as 5 local college student designers race against the clock to complete a Surprise Package design from material, container and theme. Then, like a 3 ring circus, they show a “signature Design”, a “round robin” and then a “wrap up” design.
- April 1, 2019 – Open and waiting the final entry: will it be south of the border or way North of the other border
- May 6, 2019 Jackie Zhang-, Top Ranking Master Instructor O’Hara School of Ikebana. Enjoy the simplicity, meaning and grace of her designs. We are pleased that Jackie could fit us in.
